What is the Clarkston Farm and Garden Club?

The Clarkston Farm and Garden Club is officially the Clarkston, Michigan branch of the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association.  Organized in 1914, the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association is one of the oldest women's organizations in the United States.  It's objectives have always been to encourage women to cooperate in furthering agricultural and horticultural interests throughout the country and to form a closer bond between rural and urban women.  It's goal is to help in the development of international understanding and good will among women of all nations.

The Clarkston Branch was organized in September, 1948, and has thrived in the 54 years since it's inception. This group of diverse women has strong community ties and a commitment to civic service.  Currently they maintain plantings at the Independence Township Library as well as in the downtown area of  the Village of Clarkston.  They provide scholarships to graduating seniors, educational programs to public schools, books to the library as well as donations to various organizations such as the North Oakland Land Conservancy and 4-H among others.

The Christmas Greens Market, now in it's 11th year, is the principle fundraising event for the club.  All members participate in advertising the sale, creating the beautiful merchandise and 'manning the shop'!   We hope that you use this sale to prepare your home for a lovely holiday season while giving back to the community.  Thank you for your support.
